Pairs in need of loving homes we have many photos to upload, we are doing it as quick as we can- january 2012
Elf and Sparkle
Sparkle is 6 years old and i have known her since she was a baby. she went to a home as a house bunny but didnt settle and was very anxious. the adoptee felt it kinder she was returned to the rescue where her partner anda died of old age and so she was bonded with elf. both bunnies are healthy but do prefer their own company. ofcourse we have grown very fond of them and they have their own special characters and quirks but having such a long waiting list to help new bunnies if anyone felt they could open their heart to an older pair of bunnies and provide a stimulating outside envenronment that was safe and wasnt bothered about cuddles and the bunnies giving them much attention back we would lvoe to hear from you
Crackers and Scrabble
scrabble came from an animal hoarder. i must have taken 50 rabbits from this lady over a 3 year period as she kept breaking her promise and each time i took a batch she would breed more. crackers came from a disgusting home, again someone with mental health problems and living in poverty. many of his relatives died the condtions were so dyer. again both she and reserved but so healthy and fun to watch
Ana and Caitlin
a dream pair of harlequin lops. sisters that were an unwanted childs present. born 2011 they would make dream house bunnies though enjoy freedom in the garden too. more like puppy dogs they are alert and inquisitve beg for food and follow you everywhere, climbing over you for attention and nose rubs
Cubit and Frolic
Flipper and Fancy
Fitz and Frilly
another rex pair
Kagny and Frisky
we have 5 beautiful pairs of castor rex'es. 5 months old. all neutered spayed and fully vaccinated. friendly and very socialbe. we also have one single buck as there were 2 litters equaling 11 babies
Mahitobel and Ace
Scully and Mulder
Scully is a pretty dunn mini lionhead looking rabbit, Mulder is black and white nethi looking. their mum was a pure nethi, their father must have carried the lionhead gene! both spayed, born 30/05/11 ready to be homed now. under 2kg. they were born at the Mayhew animal home after Autumn their mum was rescued from a pet shop that was closed down by the RSPCA due to poor animal welfare standards
Dior and Wiggle
Both Mini lops. Dior came from a collection of bunnies that had been bred by someone who couldnt afford to keep them and also didnt have suitable housing. Wiggle is Pansy and Polo's brother, both born 2010. Dior has been known not to eat her caecotrophs so a strict diet is essential
Pansy and Polo
better photos to be uploaded soon. these two are sisters born end of 2010. healthy and cheeky
Jester and Sahara
brother and sister. jester had to have his incisors removed due to dental disease but his molars are in good condition. he needs veg grating but eats pellets and hay normally. a delightful pair of bunnies that im getting a little too attached to, such big characters and so loving why are they still here?! Been at rescue since 28/03/09
BooBoo and Bounty
Both came in as accidental litters in 2008. so healthy but here for so long as they are shy and prefer to keep their own company. can anyone love these healthy sweet bunnies?
Dixie and Dave
dixie is a pretty english lop with mainly white and delicate try colour tortie english markings. dave is a black lionhead. both are at least 4 years old. their owner brought them all the way up from Plymouth for us to find a loving new home form them. heartbreakingly she had to part with them as her parents were divorcing
Calvin and Abi
Calvin is a handsome mini REW lop. Abi is a happy joyful chinchilla and white butterfly lionhead
Pipkin and Bandit
reserved
Gwinevere and Quincy
Dutch cross rabbits. Very healthy, born 2010. Placid, calm, learning to trust people, come home when called. Gwinevere is the black more dutch marked rabbit and quincy is the english spot marked bun though there are brother and sister
Dancer and Smiley
Dancer is a beautiful agouti and white english lop and smiley is a chocolate and white english x
TinTin and MiMi
This year we have some beautiful large rabbits. Bue eyes and stunning markings. Mimi is a little timid but we spend lots of time with our bunnies to help them gain confidence and trust in humans ready for homing and have lots of advice too. Tintin is from the same rescue case, smaller blue and white butterfly.
Miss Marple and Morse
Miss Marple is the pretty Himalayan lionhead, Morse is the handsome blue buck. He is in superb condition. Sadly Miss Marple has wonky genitals. They point at an angle and petrude ourwards more than they should. This means she can get a little wee on her fur but more importantly her vulva is often very inflammed and red. Sometimes she needs anti inflammitories and sudocream. Ultimately I find her easy to care for and this pair of rabbits is sooooo friendly and happy! Rescued from appalling conditions where 15 rabbits lived in inches of poo in someones house.
Erroll and Hettie
Errol is 4.5kg french lop. Hettie is a medium black lop doe. Errol i'd like to be a house bunny at least during winter as his ears are so long they drag on the ground and get wet. Hettie had deformed genitals and needed daily washing but thanks to some amazing cosmetic surgery from my vet she now pees in the right direction and is 99% normal
Cabbage and Margaretta
One of the maddest stories I've heard. A cat bought in a wild baby bunny back in 2009. The owners nursed the bunny back to health but ended up keeping it as an entire buck house bunny. Probably one of the friendliest wild bunnies I've met. Margaretta as far as i know is domestic though the agouti colour. You'll see her shape and size is very different from cabbage. A lovely pair that are sweet very intelligent and come home when called easily. love to dig. A quirky pair that would make fab pets.
Cora and Clarence
Clarence is a lovely lionhead but is on long term antibiotics for cronic snuffles. Cora is sweet and friendly a cute mini dutch
Betty Boo and Wilbur
Where do I start!!?? I was contacted by a lady in her 50s/60s to help with a situation that had become out of control. Her sister had purchased 2 rabbits from Henlow's Japanese koi carp pet centre and they had made the dreadful mistake of sexing them wrongly. She purchased a beautiful red eyed white French lop now named Errol and knowing rabbits were best with friends she later got a black and white Dutch doe, which they still own. Both rabbits were sold as girls. This dreadful mistake started a breeding frenzy that got well out of control with over 50 rabbits. The first few litters were sold back to the pet shop and possibly sold as reptile food. The owner also purchased 2-3 rabbits elsewhere. Sadly the owner was ill with cancer and buried her head in the sand about this rabbit problem until she ended up in hospital and her sister contacted me. Over the last 5 months of 2010 and beginning 2011 we have slowly aken all but 8 female rabbits from her. Some were lionhead x Dutch and others lionlops. Some dwarf lops like Wilbur and others much larger. A very colourful collection of rabbits that really took us to breaking point last year. Luckily all are growing up happy and healthy but we have a mission on our hands to find good homes for them all. There was one shed with the original French lop, Brin and Ephra. Mindy had 5 babies and was pregnant with a 2nd litter. They ere in a 2nd shed that the sister discovered her sister had been hiding from er. The neighbour had been feeding them but ran out of food. The first shed had 13 bucks, 3 adult does and various babies including Wiggle and Wilbur. Now bonded with Betty Boo
Glamour and Majestic
this is majestic a beautiful dalmation rex. he must be homed with glamour a gorgeous harlequin lionhead. the above harlequin lionhead is Glamour!
Norman and PomPom
two amazing french lops. they will need a shed attached to a run and a garden to roam in or would be suitable as free range house buns with access to a garden
Rose' and Chablis
A pair of dwarf lop sisters. delightful and friendly
Oreo and Ilsa
a black mini lop doe bonded with a mini lop lionhead. owned by a teenager who moved away from home and no longer had suitable housing for them.
Aero and Monopoly
about 3 years old, litter mates that came from an animal hoarder. sadly they've been at the rescue since they were babies. healthy but shy though good sturdy bunnies that need some one on one time with some one special
Jingles and Tibby
this is jingles. tibby is a steel grey netherland dwarf
Snugs and Skittle
this is skittle a gorgeous large doe lop, french lop x. Her husbun is a handsome magpie harlequin dwarf lop
Goldilocks and Flin
Goldilocks is a dwarf lop fawn and white. Flin is a chinchilla and white lionlop with incisors removed. he will need his vegetables grating and both buns will need someone to ensure they maintain correct weights and good conformation
Delta and Scamper
Delta is the hymalain doe. Scamper is the black buck. Scamper has been with us for 2 years. he came from a lady who had had over 3 accidental litters. one mistake is bad enough, but not to be responsible and then neuter the dad but allow him to impregnate the doe again and then blame it on the children for letting the bunnies out to play in the garden. Delta came from a young lady with mental health issues. she was hoarding over 15 bunnies in her housing association flat. the organisation recognised the problem and was concerned for her health as the flat was drowning in rabbit droppings and urine as she became overwhelemd and couldnt keep up with the cleaning and care of the rabbits, again allowing them to breed.
Hobnob and Fidget
Hobnob and fidget were yet the result of more accidental litters. fidget is scampers sister while hobnob was born one winter in a cold drafy unsuitalbe cage in someones garden. nessie was his mum and the owner had eloped to austrailia leaving nessie with a friend. she was not much of a friend as she had failed to tell the kind person nessie was pregnant. the owner had left the kind person no decent hutch or run for nessie. he was on benefits and had to go to his local dump to try and find something to keep the bunnies in, safe and dry. sadly fidget and hobnob have now been at the rescue for a couple of years and nature or nuture have been left quite shy though they are healthy and enjoy life and come home when called or offered food. they urgently would love a caring understanding home
