Meet the team
Rabbit Residence Rescue is lucky to have such dedicated staff and volunteers!
Lea Facey
Lea began volunteering at the rescue in 2015, starting out with cleaning hutches and fundraising then taking on many other tasks such as being in charge of new intakes and rehoming as the need arose.
Lea is also one of the three trustees and has managed the rescue on a voluntary basis since the birth of Caroline's son, Theo alongside her full time job.
Lea is passionate about rabbit welfare and is currently studying a course in rabbit behaviour and is an advisor for the One Voice for Animals 2021 campaign: A Better Life for Rodents & Rabbits as well as being a core team member for One Voice for Animals UK.
Lea also runs home based rabbit sanctuary, Hope for Hoppers (https://m.facebook.com/hope4hoppers/) which cares for harder to rehome rabbits and has offered nursing and palliative care within a home environment for many of the long term Rabbit Residence rabbits.
Paige Everdeen
Paige started off as a volunteer, we then offered her a position as a part-time animal care assistant in 2017. Paige definitely deserves a medal as she turned up day after day to take care of the rabbits in thick snow when no one else could get to the rescue. She’s hard working and reliable and a real asset to the rescue. Paige is our Senior animal care assistant, she runs our cleaning rota, health checks & deals with our holiday boarders.
Emma Collins
Long time volunteer, Emma rejoined us as a part-time member of staff in spring 2022. She has been assistant manager at ARC and also worked at Wood Green Animal Shelter and the RSPCA. She has a keen interest in enrichment, behaviour and foraging. Emma loves our red eyed bunnies but our elderly half wildies, Jackie and Aragon have always been her favourites.
Molly Lofts
Molly originally worked at the rescue in 2016 as a full time member of staff, she then left to have her son, Fred. She rejoined us in summer 2022 as a part time member of staff. Molly has a keen interest in all things health related, does much of our bonding and is hoping to train as a veterinary nurse.
Ella Carlton
Ella joined us at the start of 2023 as a part-time animal care assistant. Having previously worked with horses, Ella has taken to caring for the bunnies like a duck to water, she is resourceful, reliable, works hard & is a huge asset to the team.
Lynda Martin
Lynda volunteers at the rescue every week and also helps at fundraising events too as well as helping Lea organise our successful Facebook auctions. Lynda also assists the rescue in applying for grants. Lynda is also a member of the rescues committee. Lynda’s favourites are Bruno and Darcy. She also recently adopted ex-T&S farm bunny, Salvator as a friend for her giant, Beatrix.
Andrew Ball
Andrew is part of our behind the scenes team, he's definitely someone we couldn't survive without as he deals with the rescues wages and pension scheme.
Heather Pointer
Heather runs the rescues sponsorship scheme and also designs our calendars and our greetings cards. Heather is bunny mum to two rabbits, Caramac and Dmitri who she adopted from us.
